George Newton Hooker was born in Judith Gap, Wheatland County, Montana on January 13, 1919.
He was drafted into the Army on
December 15, 1943 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.
His home of residence was listed as Illmo, Scott County, Missouri
and his civilian
occupation was listed as Attendants, filling stations and parking
lots. He had completed
grammar school and was married.
Corporal Hooker was killed in
action in Germany, near the town of Weinsheim
on April 3, 1945.
George N. Hooker was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Saint Avold Cemetery, Metz, France and some time later his
remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Montana.
