Floyd Marshall Haye was born in Pine Castle, Orange County, Florida on March 13, 1918.
He was drafted into the Army on
January 16, 1942 at Camp Blanding, Florida. His home of residence
was listed
as Osceola County, Florida and his civilian occupation was listed
as Semiskilled Chauffeurs
And Drivers, Bus, Taxi, Truck, And Tractor. He had completed
grammar school and was single
with no dependents. His religion was listed as Protestant.
He was awarded the Good Conduct
Medal in Headquarters 22nd Infantry Motorized General Orders No.
5,
dated June 8, 1943 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
He was lightly wounded in action on July 14, 1944 and returned to duty on July 16, 1944.
He was wounded in action on July
31, 1944 and returned to duty
on September 18, 1944.
Staff Sergeant Haye was killed in action in Germany on April 11, 1945.

He was also awarded the Belgian Fourragere
Floyd M. Haye was buried in the
temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Saint Avold Cemetery, Metz, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Florida.
