James J. Gonda

James J. Gonda was born on October 19, 1925.

He was drafted into the Army on January 17, 1944. His home of residence was listed as
Cuyahoga County, Ohio and his civilian occupation was listed as clerks, general industry. He had
completed three years of High School and was single with no depenedents. His religion was listed
as Protestant.

Private Gonda was killed in action in Germany, during the
Battle of the Hürtgen Forest, on December 2, 1944.



James J. Gonda was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Henri-Chapelle Cemetery, Eupen, Belgium and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Ohio on December 9, 1947.
