April 29, 1941 at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio. His home of
residence was listed in 22nd Infantry records
as Brandenburg, Kentucky. His civilian occupation was listed as
Semiskilled Mechanics And Repairmen,
Motor Vehicles. He had completed two years of High School and was
single with no dependents.
His religion was listed as Protestant.
He was assigned to Company D
from the 92nd Replacement Battalion
on November 18, 1944.
Private Goddard was killed in
action in Germany during the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest
on November 28, 1944.
Thomas W. Goddard was originally
buried in the temporary cemetery at Henri-Chapelle
in Block TTT Row 8 Grave 142, and was moved to the permanent
cemetery at Henri-Chapelle,
in the 1947-1949 time frame, when the temporary cemeteries were
shut down.
