York in 1915. He was drafted into the Army on
August 4, 1943 at New York City, New York. His home of residence

as Brooklyn, Kings County, New York and his civilian occupation

Shipping and Receiving Clerks. He had completed one year of
college and was married.
His religion was listed as Hebrew.
He was assigned to Headquarters
Company from the 4th Infantry Division
replacement pool on June 13, 1944.
He was promoted to Private First Class on June 16, 1944.
He was lightly wounded in action
on November 18, 1944 and returned to duty
on January 11, 1945.
Private First Class Friedman was
wounded in action in Germany on February 16, 1945
and died of those wounds on February 17, 1945.
Alex Friedman was buried in the
temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Foy Cemetery, Bastogne, Belgium and some time later his remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in New York.
