Walter H. Frady

Walter H. Frady was born in North Carolina on March 3, 1887.
He enlisted as a Private for a
period of three years in Company B of the 22nd Infantry on March
27, 1911
at Columbus Barracks, Ohio. His enlistment record indicated he
stood 5 feet 10 inches tall had light brown hair,
blue eyes and a fair complexion. His previous occupation was
listed as Clerk.
Frady is recorded in the Returns
of the 22nd Infantry as having deserted from Fort Bliss, Texas on
February 25, 1912
and apprehended by civil authorities on May 6, 1912. He was at
Fort McPherson, Georgia awaiting court martial proceedings
when he was fatally shot by a sentry while trying to escape on
May 18, 1912.
