Arthur Francis Figueroa was born in San Diego, San Diego County, California on October 10, 1925.
Prior to entering military service he was employed by Cudahy Packing Company in San Diego.
He was drafted into the Army on
January 10, 1944 at Los Angeles, California. His home of
residence was listed
as San Diego, California and his civilian occupation was listed
as Skilled Occupations in Slaughtering and in
Preparation of Meat Products. He had completed two years of High
School and was single
with no dependents. His religion was listed as Catholic.
He was assigned to Company B from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on November 24, 1944.
He was promoted to Private First Class on December 8, 1944.
Private First Class Figueroa died of wounds received in action in Germany on April 3, 1945.
Arthur F. Figueroa was
originally buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Saint Avold Cemetery, Metz, France in Block ZZ Row 19 Grave 120
and his remains were later
returned to the United States where he was interred in California
on February 3, 1949.
