Jacob Joseph Esorkowsky was born in Ostrow, Poland on June 12, 1917.

Prior to entering military service he was employed by Servwell Pleating Company
in New York City.

He was drafted into the Army on October 5, 1943 at New York City, New York. At the time of his induction
he was an American citizen. His home of residence was listed as New York City, New York
and his civilian occupation was listed as Skilled Occupations In Fabrication Of Textile Products.
He had completed two years of college and was married. His religion was listed as Hebrew.

Private Esorkowsky was killed in action in France on June 18, 1944.

Jacob J. Esorkowsky was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #1 at Carentan, France in P-05-095, and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in New York.
