William Ekstrand

William Ekstrand was born in Karlstad, Sweden in 1869.

He enlisted for a period of 5 years as a Private in Company E of the 22nd Infantry on May 3, 1892
at Minneapolis, Minnesota. His enlistment record indicated that he stood 5 feet 10 ½ inches tall,
had light blonde hair and blue eyes. His previous occupation was listed as Farmer. He was
discharged from this enlistment as a Private on August 2, 1895 with a character reference of Excellent.

He enlisted for a period of 3 years as a Private in Company C of the 22nd Infantry on October 25, 1895
at Minneapolis, Minnesota. On this enlistment his previous occupation was listed as Soldier.

Private Ekstrand died of an unspecified illness at the U.S. Army General Hospital at Key West, Florida
on July 24, 1898.
