John Hindmarch Dunlap was born in New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana on January 18, 1914.
Prior to entering military service he was employed at the Barth Leather Company at New Albany, Indiana.
He was drafted into the Army on
December 31, 1941 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. His home of
residence was listed
as Floyd County, Indiana and his civilian occupation was listed
as Semiskilled Occupations In Manufacture
Of Leather. He had completed one year of High School and was
single with no dependents.
Private Dunlap died on December
6, 1944 of wounds received in action in Germany on December 2,
1944
in the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest.
