Levie Horace Davis Jr. was born in North Carolina on November 14, 1919.
He enlisted in the Regular Army
on January 28, 1941 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His home of
residence was listed
as Jamesville, Martin County, North Carolina and his civilian
occupation was listed as Farm Hands, General Farms.
He had completed two years of High School and was single with no
dependents. His religion was listed as Protestant.
He was awarded the Good Conduct
Medal as a PFC in Company C, in Headquarters 22nd Infantry
General Orders No. 5 dated 8 June 1943.
Private First Class Davis was
killed in action in France during the attack toward Cherbourg
on June 19, 1944.

Levie H. Davis Jr. was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #2 at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in the Davis Cemetery at Jamesville, North Carolina.
