He was one of 25 enlisted men assigned to the Company as replacements on that date.
Private First Class Czempkawski
died of wounds received in action in Germany
during the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest on December 3, 1944.

Joseph J. Czempkawski was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant on that date.)
Joseph J. Czempkawski was buried
in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Henri-Chapelle Cemetery, Eupen, Belgium and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in New Jersey.
