Bobby Joe Cozort was born in Annona, Red River County, Texas on February 19, 1925.
(The 1930 Census gives his name as Robert J. Cozort.)

He listed his home of residence as Red River, Texas.
His religion was listed as Protestant.

His Army serial number indicates he was drafted into the Army.

The application for his grave marker indicates he entered the Army in December 1943.

He was assigned to Company B from the 4th Infantry Division replacement pool
on July 13, 1944.

He was promoted to Private First Class in Company B on September 8, 1944.

Private First Class Cozort died on September 15, 1944, of wounds received in action in Germany on September 14, 1944.

Fosse Cemetery, Namur, Belgium and some time later his remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Texas.
