Buster Brown Chapman was born in Lylerly, Chattooga County, Georgia on August 12, 1917.

He was drafted into the Army on October 7, 1942 at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia. His home of residence
was listed as Trion, Chatooga County, Georgia, and his civilian occupation was listed as Semiskilled Occupations
In Manufacture Of Textiles. He had completed grammar school and was separated with no dependents.
His religion was listed as Protestant.

Private Chapman died on December 2, 1944, from wounds received in action in Germany on November 17, 1944,
during the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest.

 

 

Buster B. Chapman was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Cambridge Cemetery, England and some time later his remains were returned
to the United States where he was reinterred in Georgia.
