Henry G. Cardinale was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on January 22, 1921.

He enlisted in the National Guard on February 3, 1941 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His home of residence
was listed as Pitttsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and his civilian occupation
was listed as Musicians And Teachers Of Music. He had completed three years of
High School and was single with no dependents. His religion was listed as Catholic.

He was assigned to Company D from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on November 18, 1944.

Private First Class Cardinale was killed in action in Germany during the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest
on November 28, 1944.

Henry G. Cardinale was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Margraten Cemetery, Aachen, Holland in Plot P Row 1 Grave 24
and in 1948 his remains were returned to the United States
where he was reinterred in California on October 27, 1948.
