Henry Harding Butts was born in Arthur, Douglas/Moultrie County, Illinois on June 18, 1911.

He listed his home of residence as Arcola County, Illinois.
His religion was listed as Protestant.

His Army serial number indicates he was drafted into the Army.

He was promoted to Private First Class in Company D 22nd Infantry on December 23, 1944.

Private First Class Butts was killed in action in Germany near Weinsheim,
on March 1, 1945.

 

 

Henry H. Butts was originally buried in Foy Cemetery at Bastogne, Belgium
in Block G Row 10 Grave 234 and later he was reinterred in the permanent
cemetery at Henri-Chapelle in the 1947-1949 time frame, when the temporary cemeteries
were shut down.
