Paul Eugene Burket was born in Queen, Bedford County, Pennsylvania on June 17, 1921.
Prior to entering military
service he was employed by General Refractories Company
in Sproul, Pennsylvania.
He was drafted into the Army on
November 3, 1943 at Altoona, Pennsylvania. His home of residence
was listed as Bedford County, Pennsylvania and his civilian
occupation was listed as Farm Hands,
General Farms. He had completed grammar school and was married.
His religion was listed as Protestant.
He sailed to England in May 1944.
He was assigned to Company C
from the 4th Infantry Division
replacement pool on June 25, 1944.
Private Burket was killed in action in France, in the area of La Maugerie, on July 10, 1944.

Paul E. Burket was buried in the
temporary U.S. Military Cemetery
Sainte Mere-Eglise #2 at Carentan, France in Block H Row 6 Grave
108 and was moved to the permanent
cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, in the 1947-1949 time frame, when
the temporary cemeteries were shut down.
