Robert Dilman Boyd was born in Nevada, Vernon County, Missouri on September 6, 1918

Prior to entering military service he was employed by Proctor and Gamble
in Dallas, Texas.

He listed his home of residence as Dallas, Texas.
His religion was listed as Protestant.

His Army serial number indicates he was drafted into the Army.

He was assigned to Company A 22nd Infantry from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on November 25, 1944.

He was transferred to Company D on November 28, 1944.

Private Boyd was killed in action in Germany on December 3, 1944, the last day of the 22nd Infantry's
participation in the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest.

 

Robert D. Boyd was originally buried in the temporary cemetery at Henri-Chapelle
in Block KK Row 6 Grave 103, and was moved to the permanent cemetery at Henri-Chapelle,
in the 1947-1949 time frame, when the temporary cemeteries were shut down.
