Clarence John Bond was born in Calumet, Houghton County, Michigan on January 24, 1916.

He listed his home of residence as Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.
His religion was listed as Catholic.

He married his wife Eileen on October 5, 1940.

Prior to entering military service he was employed by the Hudson Motor Car Company in Detroit.

His Army serial number indicates he was drafted into the Army.

He was assigned to Company B from the 4th Infantry Division replacement pool
on August 5, 1944.

Private Bond was killed in action in Germany, during the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest.
on November 20, 1944.

He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 4th Division General Orders # 88
dated 30 November 1944.

 

He was originally buried in Block J Row 3 Grave 74, in the temporary cemetery at Neuville-en-Condroz,
and moved to his final resting place in the permanent cemetery there, in the 1947-1949 time frame,
when the temporary cemeteries were shut down.
