Loren Alvin Bast was born in Sterns County, Minnesota on October 10, 1914.

His home of residence was listed as Grandy, Cambridge Township, Isanti County, Minnesota.
His religion was listed as Protestant.

His Army serial number indicates he was drafted into the Army.

Private First Class Bast was killed in action in France, during Operation Cobra, the breakout from Normandy,
in the vicinity of the town of Les Poelies on August 2, 1944.

 

 

Loren A. Bast was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
La Cambe Cemetery, Isigny, France in Block BD Row 6 Grave 118 and was moved to the permanent
cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, in the 1947-1949 time frame, when the temporary cemeteries were shut down.
