Fred Oliver Bartlett was born in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri on February 15, 1925.

Prior to entering military service he was employed by Missouri Portland Cement
in Sugar Creek, Missouri.

He was drafted into the Army on July 7, 1944 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He listed his home of residence
as Independence, Jackson County, Missouri and his civilian occupation as
Tinsmiths, Coppersmiths, and Sheet Metal Workers. He had completed
two years of High School and was single with no dependents.
His religion was listed as Protestant.

Private Bartlett was killed in action in Germany on February 4, 1945
during the battle for the city of Prüm.

 

 

Fred O. Bartlett was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Foy Cemetery, Bastogne, Belgium and some time later his remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Missouri.
