William H. Anderson was born in
Alabama on April 3, 1917. He was drafted into the Army
on January 21, 1942 at Fort McClellan, Alabama. His home of residence was listed as Hatchechubbee,
Russell County, Alabama, and his civilian occupation was listed as Sales Clerks. He had completed
four years of High School and was divorced with no dependents. His religion was listed as Protestant.
Private First Class Anderson was killed in action in Germany on April 17, 1945.
William H. Anderson was buried
in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Saint Avold Cemetery, Metz, France and some time later his remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Alabama.
