Relmond Clarence Amsbaugh was born in North Dakota on November 16, 1923. He was drafted into the Army
on October 20, 1943, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. His listed his home of residence as
Walsh County, North Dakota and his civilian occupation as Farm Hands, General Farms.
He had completed grammar school and was single with no dependents. His religion
was listed as Protestant.

He was assigned as a Private to Company B 22nd Infantry on June 30, 1944.
He was one of 23 enlisted men assigned to the Company from the 4th Infantry Division replacement pool on that date.

 

Private Amsbaugh was killed in action near the town of La Maugerie, France, on July 12, 1944.

Relmond C. Amsbaugh was buried in the Blosville Cemetery at Carentan, France.
His remains were later shipped to the United States where he was re-interred in the
Fort Snelling National Cemetery on January 10, 1949.
