Marvin Allen was born in
Sheridan, Grant County, Arkansas on April 25, 1925. He was
drafted
into the Army on September 11, 1943 at Little Rock, Arkansas. His
home of residence was listed as
Grant County, Arkansas and his civilian occupation was listed as
Farm Hands, General Farms.
He had completed grammar school and was single with no
depemdents. His religion was listed
as Protestant.
He was assigned to Company C as
a Private, from the 4th Infantry Division
replacement pool on June 13, 1944.
He was promoted to Private First Class on July 4, 1944.
Sergeant Allen was killed in
action in France in the area near St. Lô on July 31, 1944 during
Operation Cobra,
the breakout from Normandy.

Marvin Allen was buried in the
temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
La Cambe Cemetery, Isigny, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Arkansas.
