Sgt James David Yeakley died in Vietnam on November 17, 1967
while serving with Co C 1-22 Battalion 4th Infantry Division.
He is buried at Rose Hills Memorial Cemetery, Whittier
California. He died at Darlac, Republic of Vietnam.
His name was placed on the spacecraft "Stardust" alsong
with a distant cousin, Robin Ray Yeakley. It was launched on 7
Feb 1999.
The spacecraft visited the Comet 'Wild #2' in 2004. Robin Ray
Yeakley also died in South Vietnam.
This family has served in every single war that the United States
has ever fought in starting with the Indian Wars of 1754
and the Revolutionary War with our common ancestor, George
Yeakley. Even the ones who had remained Quaker all these years.
