killed in action during an engagement with hostile forces
at grid reference BR599815, approximately 23 kilometers
north/northwest of Vinh Thanh airfield.
The action with the enemy was known as the Battle of the Rock. It
was the largest engagement
fought by 1st Battalion in 1970.
