Charles M. Reed was killed at an NVA bunker complex at grid reference BR596304,
approximately 15 kilometers southwest of Binh Khe and 4 kilometers southwest of Hon Giang Mountain.

Company C had found a large NVA bunker complex and emplaced several mechanical ambushes
across trails leading to the complex. One of those detonated killing Charles Reed and Joseph Jackson.
