Marshall Clements was killed in a battle with NVA forces during Operation Sam Houston,
at grid reference YA600587, approximately 26 kilometers west of Plei Djereng airfield.

Marshall Clements was from Alsip? Illinois,
he entered the US Army in 1966.
He trained at Ft Hood Texas, and then at Ft Lewis Washington.
He left Ft Lewis for Vietnam on July 21, 1966
on board the USNS Walker along with 5,000 members of the 1-22 4th Infantry Division D.
At that time he was a member of Co A. SP4 Marshall E Clements
was a hero, he died while serving his country on Feb 16, 1967,
along with 14 other members of his unit,
for this heroic effort, he was awarded the Bronze Star posthumously.
