Presentation coin for 4th Battalion 22nd Infantry

4th Battalion was in Hawaii as part of the 25th Infantry Division, in the late 1980's and early 1990's,
served a tour in Haiti along with 3-22, in fact, 3-22 and 4-22 came in to relieve 1-22 and 2-22
when they went back to Fort Drum.  4-22 was deactivated in 1995.

Ken Osborn, who was with the Infantry Cohort Package
25th Inf Div - '92 to '95
submitted the following:

"I was an 11C in the Headquarters Unit of 4/22nd.

We received word while we were in Haiti that our Unit was being de-activated
along with notice that we would be returning home to Hawaii ASAP.
Needless to say we were happy to hear that we were going home -
especially those of us with families."

Task Force Ironhorse Medallion, March 2003

Bob Babcock, B/1-22 VN had the idea to give a memento to the troops of 1st Battalion
as they departed for Iraq.
Bill Saling, HHC/1-22 VN had the medallion designed and made,
and the officers of the 22nd Infantry Regiment Society approved the funding.
Bob got the medallions to LTC Mark Woempner, Commander of 1st Battalion,
before they left for Iraq.

Each soldier of 1-22 Infantry was given one of these medallions,
so they would know that we support their service to our country during these dangerous times.
