October 1, 2008

At approximately 10 a.m., Soldiers with Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division seized three AK-47s, 13 AK-47 magazines
and a timer while on patrol in the West Rashid area of Baghdad.

October 5, 2008

At approximately 10:15 p.m. Oct. 5, Iraqi Police and Soldiers from Company D, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
attached to the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B,
detained a suspected criminal responsible for roadside bomb attacks, weapons trafficking, and sectarian violence
while conducting a combined patrol in the Saha community. The patrol returned to a Coalition forces combat outpost
with the suspect to conduct additional questioning.

October 10, 2008

Soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B,
discovered an 82 mm mortar round while on patrol at approximately 12:45 p.m. in the Shurta community.
An Iraqi EOD team arrived to properly transport the ordnance to a local joint security station for proper disposal.

BAGHDAD - Five Iraqis were killed and 12 were injured by an explosion in southern Baghdad at approximately 1 p.m., Oct. 12.
Multi-National Division-Baghdad Soldiers from Company D, 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, attached to 1st Battalion,
22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, responded to the area to help secure the site with Iraqi Security Forces.

While on a cordon and search mission, Soldiers with Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division seized two rocket propelled grenades, two OG-7 fragmentation warheads,
four fragmentation grenades, five RPG launchers and a 40 mm launcher in the West Rashid area of Baghdad at approximately 9:15 p.m. Oct. 12.

October 13, 2008

Just before noon on Oct. 13, Soldiers with Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
attached to 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division seized a gas can with approximately ten pounds
of homemade explosive material in the Mansour area of Baghdad.

Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers detained five suspected criminals with a weapons cache
and discovered an emplaced roadside bomb Oct. 12 in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad.
At approximately 9:15 p.m. in the Jihad community, Soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, arrested the five suspects during targeted raids in the community.
While searching the residences, the Soldiers seized four rocket propelled grenades, five RPG launchers, four type-69
bounding fragmentation propelled grenade, and one 40mm grenade launcher. An explosives ordnance disposal unit responded to handle the munitions,
and the patrol returned to a combat outpost with the detainees for additional questioning.

October 14, 2008

At approximately 11 a.m. Soldiers serving with Company E, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, seized a munitions cache in the West Rashid district of Baghdad.
The munitions included an 8-inch explosively-formed penetrator, two improvised rocket rails, a smoke grenade,
a 60 mm mortar round, two AK-47 magazines with armor piercing rounds, two AK-47 magazines with ball ammunition,
approximately 300 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, 1,000 rounds of linked 7.62 mm ammunition and various bomb-making materials.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., Soldiers of Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, reported finding a 75 mm
rocket-propelled grenade with a homemade launcher and improvised explosive device-making materials,
after searching an area in the Furat community of West Rashid based on a tip from a concerned Iraqi citizen.
The Soldiers turned the materials over to a Coalition Forces explosives ordnance disposal unit and continued on their mission.

Soldiers from Co. C, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., seized an RPG, an RPG launcher, an AK-47 assault rifle,
5.56 mm and 7.62 mm ammunition and blasting caps at approximately 8:15 p.m. while searching an abandoned house
in the Hayy Furat community of southern Baghdad's Rashid district. The patrol notified an EOD unit to handle the weapons cache.

October 15, 2008

Soldiers serving with Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division,
found a flash bang grenade and a smoke grenade while conducting reconnaissance of a market
in the West Rashid district of Baghdad at approximately 12:30 p.m.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18, soldiers from 1st Battalion, 53rd Brigade, 14th Iraqi Army Division,
along with Soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div.,
found and secured a 125 mm rocket, a 57 mm projectile, a blasting cap and a remote control jack assembled into a bomb
in the Jihad community. The Co. C Soldiers called an Explosives Ordnance Disposal unit,
which took the bomb to a forward operating base for analysis and destruction.

October 19, 2008

At approximately 4 a.m. Oct 19, Soldiers from Co. A, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Regt., MND-B,
detained a criminal in the Karada area. The Co. A Soldiers confiscated four AK-47 assault rifles,
an MP-5 submachine gun and two 9 mm pistols from the detainee.
The patrol transported the detainee and weapons to a combat outpost for further processing.

BAGHDAD - Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers arrested five suspected criminals in Baghdad's Rashid district Oct. 19.
At approximately 8 p.m., Soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Infantry Division, MND - B, detained two suspected criminals with false identification in the northern area of the Jihad community.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., Soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt.,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND - B, detained a suspected SG criminal responsible for roadside bomb attacks, IDF attacks
and financing other attacks in the Aamel community.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Soldiers from Co. C, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND - B,
detained a suspected Special Groups criminal during a raid in the eastern area of the Jihad community.

BAGHDAD - Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers gained control of a Special Groups criminal
after members of the Sons of Iraq detained the individual Oct. 23 in the Aamel community of southern Baghdad.
Soldiers from Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B,
took control of the criminal at approximately 4:30 p.m. A patrol delivered the criminal to a Coalition forces base for processing.

Approximately two hours later, a tip from a local Iraqi guided Soldiers serving with Company A, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt.,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., to seize 27 copper plates used to produce explosively formed penetrators in the West Rashid district of Baghdad.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. Oct. 25 in the Aamel community, Soldiers from Company A,
1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., detained a suspected special groups leader
allegedly responsible for roadside bomb attacks.

October 27, 2008

BAGHDAD - Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers detained a reputed Special Groups criminal Oct. 27 in the Rashid district
of southern Baghdad. Soldiers from Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Infantry Division, detained the Special Groups operative at approximately 1:30 a.m. during a target raid in the Rashid district's
Hayy Aamel community. The patrol returned to a combat outpost with the suspect, who was wanted for indirect fire and roadside bomb attacks.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., Soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Infantry Division, MND-B, found a roadside bomb comprised of four 57 mm anti-aircraft rounds encased in concrete
in a house in the Hayy Jihad community of the Rashid district.A Coalition forces explosives ordnance disposal unit responded
to the site and found there was no initiating device for the bomb.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., Soldiers of Co. C, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B, seized three 120 mm mortar rounds,
two 155 mm rounds, and 10 pounds of homemade explosives attached to an egg timer while conducting a security patrol
in the Hayy Jihad community of the Rashid district. An EOD team was called to dispose of the ordnance.
