BAGHDAD -Iraqi Security Forces discovered a "sticky" bomb attached to a car Jan. 4 in Baghdad's Rashid district.
Iraqi National Police from the 1st Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd NP Division, partnered with Company B, 1st Battalion,
22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B,
discovered the makeshift magnetic bomb on the undercarriage of a local Sons of Iraq leader's vehicle at approximately 5 p.m.
in the Risalah community. An Iraqi explosives ordnance disposal unit responded to the scene to properly dispose of the bomb.

At approximately 4 p.m. Jan. 5 in the Aamel community, Iraqi National Police from the 2nd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd NP Division,
partnered with Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B,
discovered four hand grenades.

Policemen from the 2nd Bn., 5th Bde., 2nd NP Div., partnered with Co. A, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B,
discovered one hand grenade, two explosive batteries, two Motorola speakers with speaker wire, and one router during a clearance operations
in the Aamel community at approximately 12:30 a.m. Jan. 6. The policemen transported the contents of the cache
to a nearby NP headquarters for proper disposal.

At approximately 3:45 a.m. Jan. 6 in the Jihad community, Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 53rd Brigade, 14th Iraqi Army Division
partnered with Co. C, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B, discovered five 81 mm mortar rounds
while clearing abandoned structures. An explosives ordnance disposal unit responded to the scene to properly dispose of the munitions.

Iraqi Security Forces and Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers arrested two suspected criminals
and discovered roadside bomb-making materials Jan. 6 in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad.
At approximately 9:45 a.m. in the Bayaa community, Soldiers from 3rd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division
partnered with Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat
Team, 4th Infantry Division, arrested two individuals suspected of conducting an attack on Coalition forces.
The Soldiers transported the detainees to a nearby forward operating base for questioning before handing them over to an Iraqi authority.

Iraqi Army Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 24th Brigade, 6th IA Division, partnered with Soldiers from Co. B, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt.,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B, discovered a battery with a timer attached at approximately 2:15 p.m. in the Saydiyah neighborhood.
The discovered items are commonly used to produce roadside bombs. The IA transported the materials to their headquarters for proper disposal.

At approximately 2 p.m. in the Bayaa community, Soldiers from Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B, partnered with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division,
discovered one AK-47 assault rifle, one AK-47 magazine, and four pistols.

Soldiers from Co. D, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B, partnered with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Bde.,
2nd NP Div., discovered a home-made bomb consisting of three pounds of plastic explosives at approximately 5 p.m.
in the Shurta community. An Iraqi EOD unit responded to the scene to properly dispose of the bomb.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in the Saydiyah community, soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 24th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division,
and National Police from the 5th Brigade, 2nd NP Division, partnered with Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., confiscated three AK-47 assault rifles from three different locations while conducting a combined clearance operation.

Operating in Rashid's Saydiyah community at approximately 8 p.m. Jan. 11, Iraqi Army Soldiers from the 1st Bn., 24th Bde.,
6th IA Div., partnered with Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div.,
served the warrants for two Iraqis suspected of serving as informants for criminal elements.

January 12, 2009

At approximately 10 a.m., Iraqi National Police from 3rd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd NP Division, partnered with Soldiers from
Company D, 1st Bn., 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Inf. Div., Multi-National Division - Baghdad,
found four rocket-propelled grenades in a field during a security patrol in southern Baghdad's Shurta community
and hauled the rounds to a nearby NP headquarters for disposition.

Meanwhile at approximately 10 a.m., Iraqi Army soldiers from the 2nd Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division,
partnered with MND-B Soldiers from Company B, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., seized two AK-47 assault rifles
during a security mission in the Saydiyah community of the Rashid district.

. At approximately 11:45 a.m. Jan. 14 in the Shurta neighborhood, Iraqi Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 53rd Brigade,
14th Iraqi Army Division, partnered with Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Inf. Div., Multi-National Division - Baghdad detained one individual wanted on a warrant issued by the Baghdad Operations Center.
The suspect, wanted for murder and insurgent activity, was taken to a nearby Joint Security Station to be processed.

January 15, 2009

At approximately 4 p.m., Iraqi Army soldiers from 1st Battalion, 24th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division, partnered with
Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Inf. Div., discovered an 82 mm mortar round
during combat operations. The patrol transported the round to a nearby joint security station for disposal.

Later, at approximately 8 p.m., IA soldiers from 1st Battalion, 24th Bde., 6th IA Div., partnered with Co. B, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt.,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., discovered a weapons cache consisting of a 60 mm mortar round, an anti-tank mine and several fuses
and detained four individuals. The suspected criminals were detained on warrants issued by the Baghdad Operations Center.
The patrol moved the ordnance and detainees to a nearby JSS for disposal and further questioning respectively.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., Iraqi Army Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 24th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division, working with
Iraqi National Police from 5th Bde., 2nd NP Div., partnered with Company B, 1st Bn., 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, confiscated 18 AK-47 assault rifles
while conducting clearing operations in the Saydiyah community.

Meanwhile at approximately 9:30 a.m., IA Soldiers from the 1st Bn., 24th Bde., 6th IA Div., partnered with Co. B, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt.,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B, detained a suspected criminal in the Saydiyah community.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., police officers from the 3rd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division,
working with Soldiers from Company D, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st BCT,
4th Inf. Div., confiscated 10 AK-47 assault rifles and a pistol during clearance operation in the Shurta community.

Police officers from 3rd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division, partnered with
Company D, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B,
confiscated five AK-47 assault rifles and a pistol during clearance operations in the Risalah community at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Meanwhile at about the same time, Iraqi Army soldiers from the 1st Bn., 24th Brigade, 6th IA Division, partnered with
Co. B, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B, discovered one 60 mm
mortar round while conducting operations in an abandoned house in the Saydiyah neighborhood.

IA soldiers from the 1st Bn., 24th Bde., 6th IA Div., partnered with Co. B, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt.,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B discovered a 107 mm rocket in an open field in the Saydiyah neighborhood
at approximately 11 p.m.

At approximately 3:45 p.m., IA soldiers of the 1st Bn., 53rd Bde., 14th IA Div., partnered with MND-B Soldiers from
Co. C, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., reported finding a weapons cache consisting of 11 AK-47 assault rifles,
one RPK machine gun and four 40 mm anti-tank rounds during security operations in the Furat community of the Rashid district.
During the same operation, IA and Coalition Soldiers detained nine suspected criminals.

Iraqi Security Forces and Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers found multiple caches and confiscated weapons
during the early morning hours of Jan. 24 in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad. At approximately 5:15 a.m., Iraqi Army soldiers
from the 1st Battalion, 24th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division, partnered with Company B, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt.,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., confiscated four AK-47 assault rifles, enforcing Baghdad's "Weapons Free" Policy, during security operations
in the Saydiyah neighborhood. The IA soldiers transported the weapons to a nearby JSS.

January 25, 2008

At approximately 3 p.m., Iraqi Army soldiers from 1st Battalion, 24th Brigade, 6th IA Division, partnered with
Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad,
confiscated an anti-armor mine and nine AK-47 assault rifles during neighborhood clearing operations in Rashid's Saydiyah community.

Enforcing Baghdad's "Weapons Free" Policy, Iraqi National Police from the 3rd Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division,
partnered with Company D, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., confiscated an AK-47 assault rifle and a .22-cal. rifle
during neighborhood clearance operations in the Shurta community.

Meanwhile at approximately 6:30 p.m., Iraqi National Police from the 1st Company, 3rd Bn., 5th Bde., 2nd NP Div.,
partnered with Co. D, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., seized a weapons cache consisting of a rocket propelled grenade, two kilograms of gun powder,
a grenade, a stick of dynamite, 1,000 rounds of PKC machinegun ammunition and 100 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition
during a cordon and search operation in Rashid's Shurta community. The NP transported the munitions and weapons to a nearby JSS.

At approximately 1 a.m., Iraqi Army Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 24th Brigade, 6th IA Division, partnered with Soldiers from
Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, confiscated 15 AK-47 assault rifles
during a neighborhood clearance operation in the Saydiyah community. The IA patrol transported the weapons to a joint security station.

Iraqi Security Forces, partnered with Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers, detained two suspected criminals in Baghdad's Rashid district.
At approximately 11 p.m., Iraqi National Police officers from the 5th Brigade, 2nd NP Division, conducting a combined operation with
MND-B Soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Infantry Division, detained a suspected criminal in the Jihad community. The combined patrol transported the detainee,
who was wanted for alleged car bomb activity to a joint security station for processing.
