Synopsis of 1st Battalion 22nd Infantry in Vietnam

 

 

The following history comes from the MG Maurice Kendall Collection
held in the Maneuver Center of Excellence Libraries
MCoE HQ Donovan Research Library
at Fort Benning, Georgia

As a Brigadier General, Maurice Kendall was the final Assistant Commander of
the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam. He then became the final Commander of
the Division, and oversaw its departure from Vietnam and relocation to
Fort Carson, Colorado.

 

The first two pages below are a synopsis of the 1st Battalion 22nd Infantry
in Vietnam up to the departure of the 4th Infantry Division, as filed with the final reports
of the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam.

The second two pages below are a farewell address prepared by Brigadier General Kendall,
to the members of the 1st Battalion 22nd Infantry, as the Battalion left the Division and was
transferred to command of the 1st Field Force (IFFV).
