D COMPANY DEATH DEALER
Hello to everyone at home from Iraq. The Death Dealers
continue to stay busy keeping the enemy on their toes.
The weather is starting to cool down a little and the Soldiers
keep working just as hard as when they first got here.
Our leave period for the company is over and we are
working on completing our services
to maintain our vehicle readiness.
Since last month, we have become responsible for a new area once
again. This should be our last move.
As part of our new area that we have adopted, there is a
Major Supply Route (MSR) that runs through it
and we are responsible for keeping it safe. This route is
important to both coalition forces and the enemy.
The Soldiers of the company have taken it to their heart
to make sure we keep this route open.
With a new area comes new faces and places. The company
has also been busy reconnoitering
all of our area to identify key personnel and infrastructure for
us to complete projects and work with local tribes.
As some of you may have heard on the news, the Muslims in this
country are currently practicing Ramadan.
Unfortunately some take Ramadan in the most extreme
manner. Ramadan is always a tough month
for coalition forces here and we have always expected an increase
in attacks.
Just be confident in knowing that your loved ones are well
trained
and prepared to encounter anything that is brought before them.
----------
Unfortunately, this past month we lost another great Soldier.
Sergeant Chase Haag died from injuries sustained in an IED strike
along the MSR.
He was such a great Soldier and leader and he will always remain
in our hearts.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Haag family and all
of his friends during this time of hardship.
We are not far away from coming home and our Soldiers need to
remain vigilant
so that we can work together and keep everyone as safe as
possible.
Captain Joshua Michaels and First Sergeant Richard
Johnson have been working some redeployment issues
in preparation for our movement back home. They have taken
a large part of this burden
so that we may continue to stay focused on our operations.
With redeployment, there will be a four-day pass
when the Soldiers initially return home, followed by
reintegration training to help the Soldiers
to mentally and spiritually return home. During this time,
many local organizations will come forward
and explain how they can help in the reintegration process.
Reintegration is not just for the Soldier,
but for their loved ones to and I would like to invite any of the
family members to the training when we return home.
This training will also be followed by a period of leave
for the Soldiers around the holidays.
-----
Well, that concludes this letter for the month. Please
continue to keep our great Soldiers in your thoughts and prayers
and they will continue to do an excellent job completing their
mission over here. Deeds, Not Words!

E COMPANY KILLER
From the Commander
Dear Friends and Family,
I hope that this letter finds
you well and enjoying the beginning of October
with school in full swing and football on television. Fall
has come to Baghdad as well,
as temperatures have become milder, even dipping down into the
high 60s on some nights.
It sure is a welcome change from 130 degrees of a couple
of months ago.
We have had another exciting
and productive month patrolling large areas of Baghdad
to ensure that the roads remain clear for coalition forces.
In that mission we have been very successful
and the E Company Soldiers are performing exceptionally well
every day.
Some recent highlights include Specialist Bradlee Barstow
receiving the Iron Talon award
from the 16th Engineer Brigade given each month
to a Soldier for exceptional performance as a Combat Engineer.
Specialist Ryan Eddinger has also qualified to receive his second
Iron Talon Award,
becoming the companys first two-time recipient.
---
We have had many outstanding
Soldiers and young Non-commissioned officers (NCOs)
study in their personal time in preparation for the promotions
board. I would just like to say how proud I am
of these wonderful troops as they take on the large
responsibility that accompanies wearing an NCOs stripes.
Our NCOs have done a fantastic job of taking care of our
Soldiers,
leading missions and developing their young charges. They
have been, and continue to be,
the backbone of our company, and I welcome the newest members of
this outstanding group.
I would like to thank all of
you who attended the recent Video-Telephone Conference.
We loved being able to see you all through the screen and across
the thousands of miles that separate us,
and we all look forward to seeing you again soon. I know
that you all have many questions
about when your troops will be home. While we are moving
forward with the redeployment plans,
the exact dates of the flights home are not available yet.
Please stay in contact with the FRG
and we will get that information to you as soon as we can.

From the First Sergeant
Friends and family, September
was another great month for the Killers.
Our Soldiers have been doing a great job in their missions
keeping the roads of Baghdad open for Coalition Forces.
The Killers have been having great success. In
addition to executing every mission,
we have had several Soldiers recently earn promotions and several
others who recently passed the promotions board
to earn their promotable status.
In recent ceremonies, Sergeant
Nolan Yuke received his new rank signifying his promotion to
Staff Sergeant
and Specialist James Murray became the companys newest NCO
with his promotion to Sergeant.
Congratulations to our newly promoted NCOs I know
they will do a fine job of leading their Soldiers
and developing the next generation of leaders.
-----
We sent several Soldiers to the
October promotions board who performed very well
and secured promotable status as a result. Sergeant
Gregory Savvas, Sergeant Ahmad Smith,
and Sergeant Claudius Stewart all passed the Staff
Sergeants board and Specialist Robert Chavarrae,
Specialist Blake Horne, and Specialist Keith Knight all passed
the Sergeants board
and will soon be the companys newest NCOs.
Congratulations to all of our Soldiers who have worked very hard
in their spare time to further their careers and take better care
of our troops.
We are receiving information about redeployment as
it comes from higher, and we will send home the information
as soon as it is available. As we learn specific flight
dates for the Soldiers returning home
we will send that information to the FRG, so please stay in
contact with them. In the mean time,
we will still be receiving mail and packages for another few
weeks,
so please keep sending your loved ones letters and care packages.
Good luck to any and all playing football and soccer or other fall sports. We will be home to cheer you on soon.
First Sergeant Willie Hogan (Killer 7)

E COMPANY/4TH SUPPORT BATTALION ELIMINATOR
The Eliminators have
accomplished amazing things this month. We continue to
support Patrol Base Courage
with hot chow, fuel, maintenance and water. Our Soldiers
continue to live by our company motto
Same team, same fight adding combat power to
Task Force 1-22.
We have emplaced blocking positions in key locations around the
area of operations
blocking Anti-Iraqi Forces freedom of maneuver. This has
allowed the warfighters of the Regulars Battalion
to focus their efforts aiding in the capture of several enemy
personnel. Our Soldiers have also gone on missions
with Gator and Copperhead to assist in the searching of possible
detainees.
These missions yielded high results and our efforts continue to
make Iraq a safer place.
Our Army promotes Soldiers
based on their potential to perform at a higher rank. The
Soldiers listed below
have performed in an exceptional manner and were therefore
promoted. Congratulations to the following Soldiers:
Although Im sure our Soldiers would like to
spend their birthdays with you all,
we continue to celebrate birthdays each month. Happy
Birthday to the following Soldiers:
September was a hard month for our company.
Everyday we devote our lives to defending freedom,
but unfortunately that comes with a price. Sergeant
Jennifer Hartman and Corporal Marcus Cain
paid the ultimate sacrifice to our nation on September 14th
and Sergeant Brandon Asbury did so as well
on October 7th; our gratitude will last forever.
Their memory will continue to live through us
as we know our fallen brothers and sister will watch over us as
we complete our mission here in Baghdad.
As we near redeployment, we continue
to stay focused on our mission at hand
but look forward to seeing our friends and families soon.
Samantha Howell has done an amazing job
with our Family Readiness Group and she will continue to keep you
informed on our timeline.
Thank you, once again, for your continued support, thoughts, and
prayers. We could not do it without you!
Captain Jennifer McDonough (Eliminator 6)
