FORWARD OPERATING BASE FALCON, Iraq –
Lt. Col. Matthew Elledge, commander, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, and Command Sgt. Maj. Timothy Guden,
senior enlisted leader for 1-22 Inf. Regt., unfurl the battalion standard during a transfer of authority ceremony,
April 12, at Forward Operating Base Falcon in southern Baghdad.
The “Regulars” Battalion replaced the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team,
1st Infantry Division, which recently completed a 15-month deployment in the Rashid district
of southern Baghdad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

FORWARD OPERATING BASE FALCON, Iraq –
Lt. Col. Patrick Frank, commander, 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team,
1st Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, and Command Sgt. Maj. Clifford Dockter, senior enlisted leader,
1-28 Inf. Regt., roll up the battalion standard, April 12, during a transfer of authority ceremony
at Forward Operating Base Falcon, Baghdad. The “Black Lions” Battalion recently completed a 15-month deployment
in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and is replaced by the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B, from Fort Hood, Texas.

FORWARD OPERATING BASE FALCON, Iraq – Col. Ted Martin (left), commander, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad , meets with Iraqi Army leaders
and local community members April 13 during a reconciliation meeting held at Joint Security Station Jihad,
located in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad . Martin spoke with the key leaders
about recent accomplishments in the area and employment for the residents of Jihad.

The Jihad neighborhood was the first to a host reconciliation meeting since the 1st BCT assumed responsibility for the area.

introduced himself to Jihad community leaders after a reconciliation meeting April 13
at Joint Security Station Jihad, located in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad .
Elledge and the 1-22 Inf. Regt., assumed responsibility for the area April 12
from the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division,
which finished a 14-month tour and redeployed to its home station of Fort Riley, Kan.
