BAGHDAD
Multi-National Division Baghdad Soldiers
spotted and detained a key terrorist cell leader early Saturday,
along with three cell members, while conducting a traffic control
point in western Baghdad.
The
Soldiers from Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry
Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division,
captured the terrorist leader who was allegedly in charge of a
cell that used snipers to attack civilians
in the Khan Dari and Ibrahim Bin Ali regions of western Iraq.
This
is a man that has no feelings of remorse for anyone he
targets, said 1st Sgt. Michael Willis, of Co. A.
His victims have been Iraqi army soldiers, local
citizens, to include women and children, and Coalition Forces in
western Baghdad.
Over
the past few months, this cell has waged a war of terror by
killing local citizens, which caused an increase in local
citizens calling tip lines,
said Pfc. Roy Henson, an infantrymen in Co. A. We
are seeing more and more tips come in and a lot more citizens
are willing to come up and talk to us. The citizens are
tired of crimes committed against the people of Iraq, and
Iraqs infrastructure,
and want to help in eliminating terror in the local
neighborhoods, he explained.
