IA, MND-B Soldiers detain 3 suspected terrorists

CAMP
TAJI , Iraq Elements of 2nd Tank Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army
Division , conducted a combined cordon and search mission
with Soldiers of Troop A, 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division,
of four houses north of Baghdad at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Wednesday resulting in the detention of one suspected terrorist.
Meanwhile,
a patrol from Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st
BCT, 4th Inf. Div., conducted a cordon and search mission
northwest of Baghdad at approximately 4 a.m. Wednesday resulting
in the detention of two suspected terrorists.
The Iraqi army and Multi-National Division Baghdad
Soldiers, continue to conduct offensive operations
to provide a safe and secure environment for all Iraqi citizens.

TAJI, Iraq A patrol from 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry
Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division,
found a weapons cache northwest of Baghdad at approximately 6:30
p.m. Tuesday.
The Company D patrol found 19 73mm rockets, two
120mm mortar rounds and 19 73mm rockets.

patrol from 1st Battalion, 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, found
an ammunition cache while conducting a dismounted patrol
west of Baghdad at approximately 10:30 p.m. Sunday. The Company
A patrol discovered a 130mm artillery round, an RPG round,
a case of 20.7mm anti-aircraft rounds and three cases of 7.62mm
rounds.

CAMP TAJI, Iraq A patrol from 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th
Infantry Division,
found a weapons cache while conducting area reconnaissance west
of Baghdad at approximately 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The Company A patrol seized six AK-47 assault
rifles, 1,500 PKC machinegun rounds, three cases of 7.62mm
rounds,
300 loose 7.62mm rounds, six AK-47 magazines, a hand grenade and
a sniper scope.

MND-B Soldiers detain terrorists, find caches

CAMP TAJI , Iraq A patrol
from 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st
Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division,
confronted and detained two suspected terrorists while conducting
area reconnaissance west of Baghdad at approximately 10 a.m.
Tuesday.
The Company D patrol stopped a vehicle after the occupants threw a bag of unknown contents onto the road.
After questioning the
vehicles occupants, the patrol learned that the bag
contained 27 60mm mortar primers and 12 89mm mortar primers.
The patrol secured the bag and detained the two suspects
for questioning.
Later, another patrol from 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., found
a weapons cache in a house west of Baghdad
while conducting an area reconnaissance operation at
approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The Company
A patrol
found six AK-47 assault rifles, a sniper rifle, three full
ammunition cans of RPK machinegun rounds,
20 AK-47 magazines full of 7.62mm rounds, a rocket-propelled
grenade round and a set of body armor.
The patrol seized the military equipment and munitions and
detained the suspects for questioning.

IA, MND-B Soldiers seize weapons, munitions, detain 5 suspected terrorists
Multi-National Division Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD Multi-National Division
Baghdad Soldiers from
Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Infantry Division, discovered a munitions cache while on a
dismounted patrol northwest of Baghdad Sunday night.
The cache consisted of 20 120mm rounds and a 155mm round.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team performed a controlled detonation of the munitions.
In a separate incident earlier in the day, Iraqi army soldiers
from 5th Special Troops Company, 9th Iraqi Army Division,
detained five suspected terrorists and seized weapons and
munitions during a permissive entry of the Al Fadly Mosque in Bob
al Shaam north of Baghdad.
A tip from a concerned citizen led the soldiers to the weapons,
which included seven AK-47 assault rifles, two PKC machine guns,
two pistols, 20 fully-loaded magazines of 7.62mm ammunition,
three handheld radios rigged as bomb detonators and a set of body
armor.
