E COMPANY/4TH SUPPORT BATTALION – ELIMINATOR

I continue to be amazed daily by the effort and dedication of our Eliminator Soldiers as we continue in our logistical support to Task Force 1-22.   I have never been more proud of anything in my life than I am to be associated with such fine Americans.   Our Soldiers truly understand what they stand for and what they represent.   Just this month, SSG Overturf and SGT Sanchez made a commitment to reenlist based on their passion to serve our country.

Over the past thirty days, our Soldiers have continued to build combat power by spending countless hours maintaining and repairing vehicles and weapon systems.   On February 1, 2006, we took control of our Area of Operations.   Our Soldiers have been very busy ensuring that the Regulars have everything they need.

In particular, we would like to recognize the members of our maintenance platoon for doing an outstanding job while enduring a grueling six day recovery mission in support of Task Force 1-22.   No matter what task is presented to the Eliminators, our Soldiers execute to the best of their ability.   Whether its guard duty, providing supplies, or providing maintenance, our Soldiers are ready and willing to go where they are needed.

We have had the opportunity to promote several Soldiers in the month of February.   The following Soldiers were promoted with an effective date of February 1, 2006.

Every month (around the 15th), we get a cake from our dining facility in order to wish our Soldiers a Happy Birthday.   The following Soldiers’ birthdays will be celebrated on the 15th of February:

We would also like to congratulate SPC Nunez of D CRT and his wife Belinda on the birth of a healthy baby boy.

Our Soldiers have taken on the task of fixing up our new home.   SSG Overturf and SFC Howell have taken the time to emplace new walls in order to separate large rooms into smaller offices.   This has also allowed us to open up a much needed arms room.   We painted the first floor this week and will continue to improve our quality of life.

Although our Soldiers are working around the clock, they are also taking the opportunity to exercise in the gym, utilize the internet café and phone centers, enjoy the Green Bean Coffee Shop, and occasionally pick up a good game of basketball.

     —Captain Jennifer McDonough (Eliminator 6)
