John Henry Smith served as an enlisted man in the 22nd Infantry from 1942 to 1945.

Thanks to the efforts of his granddaughter Amy his story has been preserved and added
to the history of the 22nd Infantry Regiment. Photos and documents on the next three pages
are through the courtesy of Amy Scarbrough Hughes and are shared
in loving memory of her grandfather.
