1/22 becomes 2/22

I arrived at Fort Carson, Colorado in the year 1976. I was in the new barracks and let me say they were very nice and brand new.

I was there a few months when our unit 1/22 Infantry Battalion 4 Mechanized Division. I was in “ C “ Company.

We were the Battalion 1/22 to go to Wiesbaden, Germany . When we arrived at Wiesbaden, Germany we stay in very old Air Force barracks.
What a change compared to the new barracks in Fort Carson, Colorado.

As unit became the 2/22 infantry Battalion. I was stationed there in the years 1976 to 1978. I was apart of the Reforger ( War Games ) in 1977. During our Reforger war games I was injured during the war games in 1977. I had a severe injury to my head. I am proud to have been a part
of the 1/22 to the 2/22.

My name Stephen Garcia ( Steve ). My fellow soldiers called me Steve. I would like to know if any of those who were in “ C “ Company in Fort Carson. In Wiesbaden, Germany they assigned all the Tow Platoons to become the “ CSC “ and they used us when the Alpha Company went out down range to train with them. We were assigned to Charlie Company when they went down range to train. I went to Berlin to train Combat In Cities or CIC. If any of you out there remember me or someone I would like to hear from them.
