4th Battalion 42nd Field Artillery

4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery 2008 Reunion

The reunion was held in Washington, DC on October 10-12. Many people arrived to take in some of the sights before the start of the reunion.
Friday we gathered to renew old friendships and to gain new ones and had an afternoon organizational meeting.
We took a tour on Saturday to Arlington National Cemetery where we saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown
and visited the 4th Infantry Division Memorial, then on to the Vietnam Wall where we took pictures and viewed names of our fallen Brothers.
Our next stop was at the WWII memorial, then a stop at the Capitol and saw several other interesting sights on our way back to the hotel.
Saturday evening a banquet was held at which we posted the colors, presented the POW/MIA flag, held the flames of Remembrance ceremony
with a representative from each battery to light the candles and then had a nice buffet dinner, it was our honor to have Col Rabin, 1st Bn, 22nd Infantry
commander in 1970 as the speaker. Sunday morning was a breakaway breakfast and time for good-bys.
We left with many fond memories and many new friends hoping to see them again at the next reunion.
Below are several pictures from the reunion.
