OPERATION SAM HOUSTON
Part One
From February 1, 1967 through April 5, 1967 the 1st Battalion took part in
Operation Sam Houston.

Harold Penxa, who was involved in the battles during Operation Sam Houston wrote:
"......after the Mar 14th firefight. Chinooks carried out
the wounded late evening.
Our dead, their equipment and
captured equipment were carried out by the survivors. We carried out
Terhune on such a pole."
